Michael M. Crocker, MA, LCSW is a private practitioner working with individuals, couples, groups and organizations. He provides psychotherapy services that address trauma, cross addiction, sexual compulsion and/or aggression, as well as sexual inhibition, intimacy anxiety, gender disorders and sexual orientation confusion. He also functions as an Adjunct Professor for the Social Work Department at Iona College teaching courses on Trauma, Violence and Resilience. Mr. Crocker holds two Masters Degrees; one in Psychology and the other in Social Work. He holds two Post-Graduate Certificates; one in Advanced Clinical Social Work and Individual Psychotherapy and the other in Group Psychotherapy. His graduate and postgraduate training has included a focus on assessment, diagnosis and treatment of sexual trauma, compulsivity and aggression. Additionally, he has received training at the Sexual Abuse, Addiction and Aggression Training and Treatment Institute (SATTI) in New York City. Mr. Crocker has provided clinical services for over twenty years working in a variety of human service agencies and mental health clinics. He worked in the field of trauma and abuse for over ten years which has included his tenure as the Director of the Lexington Child Abuse and Disabilities Program and as the past Chair of the Queens Borough President’s Task Force on Child Sexual Abuse and Maltreatment. Mr Crocker was also honored in April 2007 by the Child Abuse Prevention Program as a Community Hero for his work as the Director of the New York City Abuse and Disabilities Program In Jackson Heights Queens. Mr. Crocker is a State Education Department Approved Trainer on Child Abuse Identification and Reporting. He has developed several training modules on abuse intervention, working with trauma survivors and diagnosing and treating sexual compulsivity. He continues to provide consulting services to several agencies throughout New York City as well as maintaining a psychotherapy private practice in midtown Manhattan. |
